Platt in the Eifel: Study highlights importance for identity and community

Platt is widely spoken and cultivated in the Eifel region. The fact that our dialects strengthen our identity and cohesion is underscored by a recent study by the Language Attitudes Research Team at the University of Bangor in Wales, which compared our Platt with Lombard in Italy and Welsh in Wales. The results of the research were presented on Friday evening at the Corso cinema in Sankt-Vith.
