Crynodeb
This discussion focuses on the many and various material representations of Elizabeth I during the course of her reign. Particular attention is paid to the procedures associated with royal portraiture in this period and the symbolism associated with the queen and her environments in these scenes. Comparisons are made with contemporaneous representations of European monarchs (notably, Henri IV) and how the thematic emphases found within material objects linked with Elizabeth in this period establish synergies with texts produced by late Tudor writers.
