Crynodeb

The present study was conducted to determine how the application of artificial intelligence, specifically OpenAI's ChatGPT, in English language instruction influences English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study compared and analysed student performance in grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension between students who had instruction with the integration of AI, ChatGPT, and those who did not, but only received traditional means of teaching. The research was carried out with an experimental and a control group. The results of the pre-test and post-test, analysed using SPSS software, showed a significant improvement in the English competence of the experimental group. The ethical concerns in this work include overreliance on AI and issues related to academic integrity. Further, the study highlights the role of AI in education, its learning potential, and the need to disclose its limitations and ethical challenges.
