    Crynodeb

This chapter explores the difficult situation of the British-German intellectual and novelist Peter de Mendelsohn during and after World War II. As an emigrant (GB, London) he faced particularly hardship, emotionally and socially, when remigrating to Germany post 1945. His biography is representative for so many: As German author of Jewish birth, born Peter von Mendelssohn, began his publishing career in 1930. However, it was interrupted by exile after 1933.
