Background / Purpose: In traditional Chinese medicine there is a functional organ known as the San Jiao or Triple Heater. This poster looks at the anatomical basis for this organ. Main conclusion: The triple heater is a description of three anatomical spaces with their associated organs, thorax, peritoneum and retroperitoneum.
