The Welsh and Chinese Governments hosted a group of four Welsh academics in Beijing (December 2014) in order to promote Agri-Food research in Wales. The aims of the visit were to:
- promote the strength of Wales’ R&D in Food Supply Chain
- enhance the close collaboration between Welsh scientists and the
Chinese food industry and academia
- help Chinese business to understand Wales’ investment environment
- attract investment from China and maximize cooperation opportunities
I presented an introduction to research in the BioComposites Centre,
highlighting the Centre’s track record in collaborative industrial research, the different technologies available in the Centre and the strong links
between the Welsh Government and Bangor University with regards to
funding for collaborative research.
