Last year at the Charing Cross Symposium, I was very impressed and inspired by your talk about the diabetic foot service, you had developed in Wales and of the results you had achieved. In my mind, there is no alternative for vascular surgeons who wish to stem the tide of the aging population and the diabetics pandemia other than rising to the challenge at a population level. We need to do what you have been doing: Get out of the hospital, find the patients, and prevent amputation rather than waiting for them to be admitted with often unsalveable legs.
