Description

David Hughes School came alive with colour and creativity during a full day of Chinese New Year workshops celebrating the Year of the Horse. Students enjoyed a rich programme of hands-on activities designed to introduce them to traditional Chinese arts and festive customs.

Throughout the day, students explored a variety of crafts, including delicate paper cutting, expressive calligraphy, colourful bracelet making, and imaginative clay knot sculptures. In the afternoon, the celebrations continued with the creation of bright paper lanterns and traditional red envelopes, learning about their symbolism and connection to good fortune and new beginnings.

The workshops offered a lively and meaningful way to welcome the Lunar New Year, combining creativity with cultural learning and giving students a memorable insight into the energy, optimism, and spirit of the Year of the Horse.
