Reading is central to modern life, yet some people will struggle to read for various reasons. In this lecture the focus was on three neurodiverse groups, and how reading is impacted in each group, and how best to support neurodiverse learners with reading.
• Overview of the main theories of reading development.
• Outlined the primary features of: dyslexia, ADHD, & autism.
• Description on how literacy is impacted in each of these groups.
• Named 1-2 ways in which we can support reading for each of these groups.
