Description
The film “Anatomie d'une chute” aka “Anatomy of a Fall” (2023), directed by Justine Triet, is a powerful interpersonal drama and a “whodunit” as the viewer is left to find out if a murder has been committed. The paper concentrates mainly on the third genre to which “Anatomy” belongs: the courtroom drama. It turns out that the film has many such elements. But it is an atypical courtroom drama as it has no lawyer hero. Presented are issues around the reliability of witness statements, especially of children, the stories constructed for use in court and the heavy burden for those affected – all not unfamiliar from real trials.Period | 25 Nov 2024 |
