Description
The presentation develops criteria for the entertainment value of law-related TV broadcasts. There are: conflict, violation of norms, humour, threats and rewards, representation of the viewers/identification, strong and weak authorities (heroes), discovery/mistery, self-reference, stories and believability. These factors can be endlessly varied and the producers can count on the viewing public's interest. In addition, law, legal personnel, and institutions tend to be portrayed positively.
