Children's Poor Health in Wales - BBC Dros Ginio

Press/Media: Expert Comment

Description

I visited the BBC studios in Cardiff to record an interview for Dros Ginio with Gwenllian Grigg, discussing the latest report from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) in Wales.

The report warns that, without urgent action, Wales risks "raising one of the unhealthiest generations of children in decades". During the discussion, I emphasised the importance of looking beyond individual behaviours to the structural causes of poor health, including poverty, poor housing, and wider social inequalities.

If we are serious about improving children's health and wellbeing, we must address the social and economic conditions that shape the lives of children and families.
