    Press/Media: Expert Comment

    Description

In honour of Halloween, we’re taking things in a different direction. Because it’s the time of year for horror films, we’re delving into one of the most iconic ones: Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. There’s also a new film coming out in November called Doctor Sleep, based on the sequel to Stephen King’s original novel.

Guest host Rachel Browne connects with Kubrick-expert Nathan Abrams, a film professor at Bangor University in Bangor, Wales, and author of the book Stanley Kubrick: New York Jewish Intellectual. They delve into the legacy of the iconic horror film The Shining and why it’s still terrifying 40 years later.
