Winter Fuel Allownace

Description

Contribution to BBC Radio Cymru's Dros Frecwast discussion on the changes to the Winter Fuel Payment. This year, the payment will once again be available to the vast majority of pensioners, with around 75% expected to qualify. Unlike the more restrictive system linked to Pension Credit, the revised approach means that payments will be made to pensioner households as usual, with the value subsequently reclaimed through the tax system where household income exceeds £35,000.
