Description of impact
Collections and openly available images and models, for public interest, understanding and for research. The work has delivered and published large photography collections, created hundreds of 3D heritage models (which are intractable in a web browser), and 3D renderings of those models. The impact is widespread. Photos have been used by the public, thousands of downloads and views, and development towards a comprehensive database of prehistory monuments across Wales and along the Atlantic area.Impact Summary for the General Public
Development and creation of 3D heritage models of prehistory sites, including burial chambers, hill forts, dolmen. Sites are often at-risk from weather deterioration, landslides and so on. Arial capture of larger sites including the WW2 bomber "Maid of Harlech" using arial capture.Description of the underpinning research
Collaboration with archaeologists, modellers and computer visualization researchers across the University, to develop techniques and methods to create and deliver scans and models to the public and researchers.Beneficiaries and reach of impact
Public interest through written articles, newspapers, news articles, blogs. Researchers to use the information for understanding.| Impact status | Ongoing |
