Description of impact
Raising cultural awareness of Stanley Kubrick's oeuvre and Jewishness. Preserving cultural heritage through highlighting the existence of a lost Kubrick script which, if commercially exploited, will lead to economic impacts. This ‘find’ is the result of Abrams' novel historical approach to film and his wider evaluation of Kubrick's oeuvre as part of a larger research project looking at the representation and stereotyping of Jews, Jewishness and Judaism in the media.Impact Summary for the General Public
Abrams' research has raised awareness of Stanley Kubrick's Jewish heritage and how this influenced his choice of film projects and the way he adapted them. It led directly to the discovery of a 'lost' Kubrick screenplay.Description of the underpinning research
This impact arises directly out of my potential 4* (double-weighted) monograph Stanley Kubrick: New York Jewish Intellectual.Beneficiaries and reach of impact
The reach is global as manifested by the multiple media appearances in global media (see attachment). The beneficiaries are: (a) wider general public; (b) fans of Stanley Kubrick's films and work in general; (c) the media industries.| Impact status | Ongoing |
