Overview

I came to Bangor University in 2020 to study for a PhD in Criminology following the completion of my MA in Comparative Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2012 at Bangor.  I have a background in professional policing, having served as a police officer for 30 years in both England and Wales and in the British Army.

My doctoral research draws from my practical and academic experience and focuses on the sentencing of drivers in the Magistrates Courts.

My interests lie in policing practice, I teach on the Police Educational Qualification Framework (PEQF) degree programme, specifically focusing on roads policing, strategic thinking in policing, coaching and mentoring and assist with other programme modules.
