Overview
Dr Edward Thomas Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Bangor Business School, Bangor University, with professional experience of working in the private and public sector at a senior level. His research, which mostly has a policy focus, is primarily in the area of economics and innovation in public and private finance. Prior to his academic career, Edward held various private-sector positions in the Irish banking industry, with specific experience in financial and economic modelling, pricing and capital calculations. Edward is Director of the Institute of European Finance (IEF) research centre, a Non-Executive Director at Wales only dedicated science park (M-SParc), and Chairman of Gymdeithas Elusennol Ynys Mon, an Anglesey-based grant-making charity.
PhD (Economics) from the Centre for Banking and Financial Studies, University of Wales, Bangor, where he also holds a BA (Mathematics and Economics) degree and a Masters (Banking and Finance) degree. Experience of supervising PhD, Masters and Undergraduate theses and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
