Overview

I am a postgraduate researcher in the School of Ocean Sciences. I am an international student, originally from the United States, where I recieved my BSc in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity. My research interests are in marine ecology, particularly exploring predator-prey ecology and using new methods to better understand predators' impacts on their ecosystems.

Research

My current research involves the use of eDNA metabarcoding to explore the diets of two different seabird species, the common guillemot (Uria aalge) and the European shag (Gulosus aristotelis). This diet analysis, combined with tracking and oceanographic data, can be used to build a clearer picture of where these birds are spending time and what environmental factors may be affecting them.
