Grant Awards and Projects

I gained funding from the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF) Institutional Support Grant PGR Award Guidance and Application for Work in Nigeria on food redistribution.

Overview

As a doctoral researcher in Geography at Bangor University, I am investigating how redistributing surplus food can lead to measurable social, economic, and environmental benefits. My thesis examines practices and outcomes in North Wales and Nigeria, particularly their relationship to environmental sustainability, waste governance, social welfare, and business management.

With a Distinction in my MSc in Environmental and Business Management from Bangor University and a BSc in Geology, I adopt an interdisciplinary approach that connects the practical realities of third-sector food redistribution with policy and organisational decision-making. My research methods include semi-structured interviews, participant observation with partner organisations, analysis of organisational documents, and basic spatial mapping. Ultimately, I aim to inform policy and practice that link surplus food logistics to community wellbeing, employability, and low-carbon outcomes.
