Overview
Rhiannon Tudor Edwards BSc. Econ, M.A., D.Phil., Hon. MFPH is Professor of Health Economics. She is co-director of the Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME) at Bangor University, and leads the Public Health and Prevention Economics Research Group (PHERG) at CHEME. She is a member of Council and a trustee of Bangor University. Rhiannon is also a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Population Health, University of Liverpool. At an all-Wales level she co-directs Health and Care Economics Cymru (HCEC), funded by Health and Care Research Wales through Welsh Government, is a Health and Care Research Wales Senior Research Leader and a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales.
Research interests and expertise are in the design, conduct and reporting of economic evaluations of public health and preventative interventions, within and beyond the health sector as often these are multi-sectoral. Rhiannon has co-authored over 400 peer-reviewed articles and is co-editor of the established course textbook "Handbooks in Health Economics – Applied Health Economics for Public Health Practice and Research” published by Oxford University Press. She is currently leading Bangor University as a partner in the Invest4Health (I4H) study funded by Horizon Europe.
Rhiannon is a Commonwealth Harkness alumnus, graduate of Aberystwyth University, the University of Calgary and the University of York, and is an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM, Level 7) qualified executive coach.

In a global analysis of bibliometrics in health economics (1975-2022), Rhiannon was listed among the most important authors in health economics.
