Project title:

A Helping Hand: The Use of a Virtual-Reality Approach To Improve Limb Function After Stroke

Layman description:

The consequences of stroke are long-term and insidious. One of the most commonly reported effects is upper limb impairment. Current approaches to rehabilitation are moderately effective, relatively low in adherence, and oftentimes fail to generalise to activities of daily living outside of the clinic. Throughout the course of this project, we hope to develop an engaging, volitional approach to post-stroke upper limb rehabilitation. By working together with industry leaders, our objective is to create an effective yet easy-to-use rehabilitation framework that allows patients to make meaningful and long-lasting progress in their rehabilitative journey.
