Abstract
We introduce a sensing technique that tracks polarisation states from the equaliser tap-weights within an Alamouti-coded simplified coherent receiver used for PONs. Experimental results demonstrate downstream transmission at 100 Gb/s/λ with a loss budget exceeding 35 dB alongside vibration sensing capabilities.
