Abstract
In April 2022 the UK experienced the largest increase in gas and electricity prices for fifty years. This price increase has pushed 2.7 million households into fuel poverty. This article discusses the 'causes' of the current energy crisis, how it affects the poor and the vulnerable in the UK, and proposes two solutions to help mitigate the problem.
