Abstract
To develop a sustainable workforce, future midwives
need to recognise that their wellbeing is paramount
and that they are valued and important. Leading with
compassion in midwifery education through supporting
student wellbeing and enabling psychological safety
is key to transforming midwifery, midwifery education
and maternity services. This article explores elements of
compassionate leadership in midwifery education that
may work to improve student experience
