Abstract

This ebook is based on some of the main papers presented during the Welsh Language Technologies Academic Symposium 2020. The chapters deal with NLP and speech technology, concentrating on techniques that may be useful for less-resourced languages. The state of language technologies for the Basque language is reported on, as are some international tools that may be adapted for other languages. A number of resources that have been developed for Welsh are detailed, including part of speech taggers, stemmer, word-to-vec models, neural machine translation and text to speech.
