    Abstract

A composition for piano and variable chamber jazz group with integral improvisational section. The piece flows between composed and improvised, and free and structured musical time. The harmonic language is polyharmonic whereas the intention is to provide an accessible layer in the melody. This builds on my research in musical accessibility (see monograph The Accessibility of Music, CUP 2013)
