title = "Subject and whole school level approaches used by rural schools in Wales to reduce inequalities in education and raise pupils{\textquoteright} attainment and achievement",
abstract = "This paper reports on key findings from 32,831research participants that investigated the factors which affect poverty and attainment in mostly rural education settings across 12 counties in Wales.A multi- methodological research, it identifies and evaluates multiple factors that affect educational attainment from the perspectives of pupils and key stakeholders in education and explores their expressed needs, aspirations and perceptions to offer guidance on future needs of government policy and planning. It argues a case for targeted and subject specific support from educationalists to normalise scholastic and extra-scholastic learning culture amongst parents whose children would most benefit.",
