Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Telehealth has revolutionised the delivery of mental health services across society, and vastly increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter provides a comprehensive understanding of how telehealth can effectively assist in the delivery of third-wave psychotherapies, along with the potential limitations of telehealth. It begins by discussing the benefits and challenges associated with telehealth. This is followed by a literature review on the methods and applications of telehealth-delivered third-wave psychotherapies, evaluating their effectiveness and identifying gaps in current research. Finally, considering that technical difficulties and distractions can undermine client engagement during telehealth sessions, the chapter offers practical recommendations for clinicians to create optimal conditions for telehealth delivery.
