Abstract

This paper outlines ways of predicting the future of global Pentecostalism: making use of the current church growth and demographic trends, it extrapolates likely future growth of the movement; making use of possible shifts in geo-political realities, it locates Pentecostalism within the uncertain global landscape; assessing ideological models, it assesses the reliability of global societal developments; and reflecting on eschatological models, it draws attention to hermeneutical possibilities and potential pitfalls. Simple analysis of these different methods of predicting the future is employed to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.
