    Abstract

In November 2014, Bangor University was commissioned to undertake a
research study on behalf of the Welsh Government. The purpose of the
study was to add to our understanding of how the Welsh language is used in
communities, and to assess whether the types of programmes funded by the
Welsh Government to promote Welsh language use are meeting the needs
of communities. The findings of the study will contribute towards shaping the
language planning policy of the future.
