Katharina received her M.A. at the University of Göttingen (Germany), where she studied Pre- and Protohistory, Biological Anthropology and Classical Archaeology. Her thesis examined the late-Slavic cemetery of Güstritz in the rural district of Lüchow-Dannenberg (Germany).
After graduating, she joined the Discovering the Archaeologists of Europe 2012-14 project (www.discovering-archaeologists.eu) as a researcher for the International Austrian Archaeology Forum, the project’s Austrian partner organisation. In October 2013 she took up a post as Research Support Officer at the School of History and Archaeology for the project Co-Production of alternative views of lost heritage (www.heritagetogether.org).
Assisted by a Fee Waiver Grant from the College of Arts and Humanities, Katharina started a part-time PhD in 2016. Her project Community archaeology in the UK and Germany in the light of the Faro Convention examines public participation in archaeology in the above mentioned countries.
