Mr Matthew Chapman
I am an MSc Research student at Bangor University currently studying in biological sciences. I studied an undergraduate course in Zoology with Animal Behaviour here at Bangor where I carried out my dissertation on UK spider species and how they have been able to adapt to car wing mirrors as suitable habitats. Now, for my postgraduate project I am currently studying storage mites (Tyrophagus sp.) and whether they are capable of magnetoreception for the function of spontaneous allignment and orientation. My main interests lie within the field of invertebrate biology/entomology and, more specifically arachnology (spiders, scorpions, ticks, mites, harvestmen etc.) and what drives their specific behaviours.
