Vicki is a third year PhD student of English Literature in the School of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics. She is researching the appropriation of mercantile practice and discourse in medieval and early modern women's writing, including their letters, accounts, life-writing, and wills. Vicki is particularly interested in medieval and early modern women's involvement in business and finance: how much did they spend and on what? What did they invest in? What did they sell? What did they bequeath, and to whom and why? Vicki completed both her BA in English Literature and MA in Medieval and Early Modern Literature at Bangor University, during which time she was awarded the John Danby Prize for English Literature four times.
