Dr Xianqing Jin

Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Research)

Overview

Dr Xianqing Jin received his PhD degree in optical communications from Bangor University in 2010. He was the recipient of the Honorary Research Fellow Award for his contributions to his research work at Bangor University in 2018. Since 2021, Dr Jin has been a senior lecturer with School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. He has authored and/or co-authored more than 100 refereed papers and one book. He also holds two international patents and one national patent. His paper won the best paper award in the International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN) in 2018. His research interests include optical fibre/wireless communications, spatial multiplexing in optical (fibre) waveguides, and DSP algorithms for new digital services (VR/AR/MR and intelligent transportation, etc.). He is looking for talented/self-motivated PhD candidates who are interested in the above research topics and willing to develop cutting-edge research technologies.
