I graduated with a BSc in Marine Biology and Zoology in 2011, followed by an MSc in Marine Environmental Protection in 2012, both at the School of Ocean Sciences at Bangor. Following my MSc I worked at a leading marine environmental consultancy before completing my PhD in ecosystem-based management of inshore fisheries at Bournemouth University between 2014 and 2018. I returned to environmental consultancy, working extensively at sea, before returning to Bangor in 2018 to undertake my first post-doctoral research position, working on the Conservation Evidence project for marine fish conservation. In 2020 I was appointed the lead post-doctoral researcher on a contract with Welsh Government Marine and Fisheries Division, delivering a programme of at-sea surveys and research to meet Welsh Government's marine and fisheries science evidence needs.

I have over a decade's experience in fundamental and applied marine ecology, conservation and fisheries science. My research interests include sustainable fisheries and the conservation of marine biodiversity, with a particular focus on sea turtles and climate change.
