It describes how an IPS approach was adapted and implemented in North Wales (as I CAN Work) and lays out how the programme has worked locally.The I CAN Work programme was developed initially as a 9-month pilot project by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) in partnership with the Welsh Government (WG) and Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board (BCUHB), and later extended until December 2020. The programme was open to any individual in or out of employment, with mild to moderate mental health issues, Individuals could refer themselves onto the programme, be referred by a health professional, such as their GP or Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) or from another organisation such as Jobcentre Plus
