N2 - There are many fabrics and compression classes to choose from in thetreatment of chronic oedema/lymphoedema. This article discusses thetechniques involved in producing compression garments, and how differentways of constructing a compression garment can affect the limb beingtreated. It ends with a short case study describing one patient’s experiencewith layering high compression class garments which did not controlhis oedema, and how, by changing the garment fabric and reducing thecompression class, he has been able to achieve a marked improvement inhis general condition.
