N2 - During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020/21 the safety of elderly residents in nursing homes and the workers who cared for them was seriously compromised by policy decisions made by the British government and the National Health Service (NHS). Hundreds of nursing home residents and the workers who cared for them died during the early stages of the pandemic. This article explores why these deaths happened and what can be done to stop this happening again in the future.
