Zur Rezeption der Bruder Grimm in Spanien im 19. Jahrhundert'.

This invited article represents another manifestation of Tully's particular expertise in transcultural literary ideas. It marks a significant advance in the international study of the reception of Grimms' Children's and Household Tales in Europe. New material is presented as well as the first systematic overview of the Grimms' impact on folklore studies and philology in Spain. Significant is the predictable role of French as a conduit but also the less likely but equally important role of Portuguese scholars in the dissemination of the Grimms' work. The article also highlights and challenges key misconceptions surrounding the Grimms' life and work which have made their way into the current academic debate. As a result of this and other work, the Brother Grimm Society (the foremost organisation in Grimm studies) has asked Tully to co-edit a volume in the ongoing edition of the Brothers' correspondence.
