Description
The laws of armed conflict don’t respond to all aspects of the relationship between the environment and armed conflict. Development of the current framework of IHL protecting the environment in armed conflict was discussed. Strengthening the protection of the environment in armed conflict was advocated for. Brief discussion of some options, including the current programme of work of the International Law Commission and expectations in that regard.
