Description
Ysgol Penmachno hosted an exciting Chinese New Year workshop on 21st January, where students embraced the festive spirit through a vibrant kite painting activity. Delivered by tutors from Bangor University’s Confucius Institute, the session combined creativity with cultural learning, providing an engaging and enriching celebration.
Kites hold a significant place in Chinese culture, symbolising joy, freedom, and the wish for good fortune. During Chinese New Year, they are often flown to dispel bad luck and welcome positive energy for the year ahead. At the workshop, students explored these cultural connections while decorating kites with vivid colours and intricate designs inspired by traditional Chinese art.
