[Delivered as part of the 1st International Arts & Dementia Research Conference, Royal Society for Public Health.]
This workshop introduced delegates to the method of structured observation. This does not rely on the people living with dementia, their carers or indeed the researcher, to recall feelings and details, and enables a way of quantitately capturing 'in the moment' reactions that might otherwise be overlooked, or prove difficult to articulate.
