Description

Meeting Chinese Government representatives from SAFEA (State Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs) in Beijing, China
2 Dec 2014

Meeting with Chinese Government representatives from SAFEA (State Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs) in Beijing, China: I attended a meeting in China which was hosted by the Chinese and Welsh Governments, in order to promote Welsh expertise in Agri-Food research. A senior representative from the Welsh Government (David Morris-Deputy Head of Food) hosted the visit and I was one of two invited representatives from Bangor University (the other being Prof. Dave Chadwick from SENRGy). We had a formal meeting with senior representatives from the Chinese Government in SAFEA (State Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs) to discuss collaborations with Chinese companies and academic groups. Those present from the Chinese Government included Mr Zhaohua Sun (Deputy Administrator), Mr Zhu Xuefung (Director) and Mr Liang Shenping (Division Chief). At this meeting the research in SENRGy and the BioComposites Centre was promoted, along with existing links that both BC and SENRGy have with Chinese academics.
