Description

NIHR HTA FASAR: Randomised Control Trial of fluoxetine for the treatment of problematic sexual arousal in adult males serving a custodial sentence for a sexual offence. (NIHR151549; £2,400,081; 02/23-01/28). Health Economics representative on Trial Steering Committee (TSC).

The role of the Steering Committee is to provide overall supervision for a project on behalf of the Project’s Sponsor and Funder and to ensure that it is conducted to the rigorous standards set out in the Department of Health’s Research Governance Framework for Health and Social Care and the Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice. The trial is based in 8 UK prisons and is investigating the effectiveness of fluoxetine on males with problematic sexual arousal. The HE component involves service use data analysis at baseline and 6m (final visit). The funder requested a HE representative on our TSC, attending twice yearly meetings for the 5y duration of the trial.
