This online training programme centred international Chinese teacher standards (2012) aimed at improving certified Mandarin Chinese teachers’ professional knowledge and teaching skills. The training programme included the following courses: basic knowledge, language teaching strategies, the second language teaching theory and practice, classroom management, the cognitive and dissemination of Chinese culture, cross cultural adaptation and communication skills, professional ethics and professional development, etc. This training programme provided updated Mandarin teaching methods and theories in TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a second Language) domain. Through this continuing study, I’ve constantly gained professional knowledge and skills in TCSL which has an important impact to my future personal development.
