Child Abuse: An evidence base for confident practice.I was asked by the Open University Press to review this book; as I had used earlier editions of it in one of my modules (Health & Welfare Issues). I am also experienced in working with children who have been abused and neglected; as I was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in America for 6 years. I worked in a statutory government agency, investigating cases of child abuse and neglect; and doing therapy and preventive work with children and families who were experiencing difficulties.
