This dataset consists of samples collected of benthic communities (from meiofauna to demersal fish), using a range of sampling gears, in the Celtic and Irish Sea during September 2015 and April 2016. Sampled organisms ranged in size from 0.0001 g to 10 kg, obtained from day grabs, anchor dredges, 2 m beam trawls and 4 m beam trawls. Sediment samples were collected for Practical Size Analysis (PSA). Sites were sampled across gradients in fishing effort and primary productivity, which were determined from the MODIS satellite and Vessel Monitoring Systems (VMS) data.
