Overview

Dr Liz Heyworth-Thomas was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Management at Bangor Business School in 2023.

After graduating from Bangor University, Liz went on to build a successful academic career across UK Business Schools, including Cumbria Business School, Wolverhampton Business School, and Liverpool Business School, where she held Lectureship, Senior Lectureship, and Principal Lectureship [Programme Leader] positions.  

With fond memories of studying at Bangor University, Liz welcomed the opportunity to return as a member of the Business School teaching team.  

 

 

Other

Externally, Liz holds a Co-Chair position of the Academy of Marketing's Entrepreneurship and Small Business Marketing Special Interest Group and has been invited as a guest author for media publications such as The Professional Mountaineer. Liz has also been invited to host workshops for outdoor business entrepreneurs at events such as the British Nordic Walking CIC Annual Conference.

Liz is currently working on other research projects, which include [though are not limited to] agri-entrepreneurship in the Cambrian Mountains, entrepreneurship in AONB regions, frameworks to understand quality of life, as well as supervising PhD students in the field of business and entrepreneurship.

Liz has built a reputable research profile with publications and academic contributions in the field of entrepreneurship, is a Doctoral Supervisor and is open to opportunities for research collaboration, Doctoral supervision, and guest speaker invitations.
