Overview

I am Joseph Roy, an ESRC-WGSS (Welsh Graduate School for Social Science) PhD student in Eco-psychology. I have started off studying how animal behaviour is changed to adapt to human-induced environmental changes, and I am working in the opposite way to understand how human well-being is affected by nature. I study soundscapes of nature with a focus on birds and use a multitude of tools from psychology, neuroscience and physiology to understand how human wellbeing is affected by nature interactions. I am also keen to apply these to ecology and conservation of the natural soundscapes.
